Bowl with splashed spots
Elegant black ceramics with abstract designs are most often associated with kilns operating in southern China, but numerous folk kilns in northern provinces such as Shanxi and Hebei produced similar objects—including this example. These wares are adorned with freely rendered glaze decorations intended for the domestic market.
