Vase with nine peaches
Featuring a range of opaque and translucent colors, this vase bears nine peaches in a complex composition that expresses a wish for longevity. The same design appears on enameled porcelains produced during the preceding Yongzheng period (1723–35). In later iterations such as this one, the branches and leaves are arranged more densely, the color of the peaches is brighter, and the fruits often occur in sets of nine rather than eight.
